To be truly passionate about something is remarkable. There isn’t a day that goes by where I take for granted how fortunate I am to have found my calling in life. 🌟
My love of animals has followed me all the way through my childhood. I had many different pets growing up, all of which I loved dearly. And for as long as I can remember, I proclaimed that I wanted to be a veterinarian, I was fueled by the desire to love and care for all creatures, big and small. As I grew older, this evolved into a deep appreciation for my biology courses during high school. By the time I was making decisions about college, I was fully prepared to pursue my biology degree.
The whole histology thing seemed like a bit of a detour, but a practical one at the time. I figured it would allow me to have a good-paying job while I pursued higher education. And it seemed interesting enough at the time. Little did I know how much it would change the course of my life. It wasn't very long before I was completely enamored with the field of histology. I knew it was somewhere I wanted to stay for a very long time.
It’s funny that I ended up working in veterinary medicine. It all seemed to have come full circle, bringing me right back to where I started: completely enthralled by the world of animals. My curiosity drives me to learn more about every animal I come across, although these days I’m focused mostly on the microscopic anatomy.
When you truly love what you do, it transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Every challenge becomes another opportunity to learn and grow. There are days when I’m overwhelmed with excitement for what’s to come. I never know what I’ll get until it’s on the cutting board in front of me. And I’ll forever believe I’m the luckiest person in the world.
